Sustanability of The Translation Field is a collection of papers presented at the conference on the same theme, which took place in Penang, 18-20 August 2009.
There are several topics discussed by the participants, i.e. theories and technics of translations, machine translation, translation and the media, translation and education, translation of literature, translation of special texts and official documents, interpretation for special people, dictionaries and translation, translation of cultural elements, translation and publishing, and translation and business.
Some of these papers are conceptual in nature while the rest are based on researches and investigations carried out by the various scholars concerned. Some of the reports are based on observations made by the individual scholars. In addition, these reports are also taking into consideration the differing cases observed by various translators in many different languages. As such findings and observations reported in this volume would be useful to scholars and practitioners of translation in many ways.
