Subtitling Services

Do you need quality subtitling services? This ranks among ITNM’s specialities as we translate dialogue, taking into account cultural aspects, to ensure accuracy in the meaning intended for the audience. Translating dialogues in another culture is very challenging and cannot be done thoughtlessly. The advantage ITNM has is we use native speakers to translate dialogue - which is then edited by an experienced editor, hence it is suited to the local culture and cast of mind. As a result, the subtitles that are displayed bring satisfaction similar to the experience of watching the story line develop.

PAYMENT RATES

ITNM handles each project according to needs. Thus, rates for payment will differ based on these factors:

  1. Source language and target language
  2. Total number of words
  3. Type of text: General or specific (technical)
  4. Deadline: Normal or urgent
  5. Any other needs Discounts are offered on bigger projects.

Training Services

If you are interested in learning a certain language and translation and interpreting skills, ITNM also offers training conducted by a team qualified and experienced in the fields of language, translation and interpreting. The training is conducted in a comfortable environment and makes use of a variety of techniques such as classroom practice and videos/film presentations. All of these are aimed at enlivening the class so that training takes place more effectively.

Apart from the fixed training schedule, ITNM also arranges training upon the client’s request - either at Wisma ITNM or at the client’s preferred venue.

The following are courses conducted by ITNM:

  1. General Translation Course
    Offered full time (2 weeks) or part time (every Saturday over 10 weeks), this course exposes the participant to basic skills and knowledge in the field of translation.
  2. Language Course
    This course is offered at the request of clients and it must be noted that participants do not only learn about language, but are also exposed to the cultural aspects of the native speakers.
  3. Other Courses
    Other courses offered at ITNM include courses in subtitling, interpreting and editing.

 

Editing Services

Editing ensures that all texts translated subscribe to an appropriate tone and language style, besides avoiding other errors that although small, may detract from the company’s image and appearance. This work is not to be taken lightly as it is one of the best ways to ensure that a translation is accurate and of quality. This is important as you place your company’s professional reputation on the line in the accuracy of a document, especially when it is translated from another language.

With the help of high quality editing, you can breathe a sigh of relief because each task will be edited by an experienced editor, and proofread several times to make sure that it is clear of any error. With quality at the root of our work, our editor is responsible for ensuring the perfection of each document entrusted to us.

ITNM offers interpreting services by a team of interpreters who are skilled and professionally trained to handle almost all major languages in the world. Depending on the client’s request, ITNM is willing to take on any assignment, whether short term or long term - including multilingual events, or business and diplomatic escort interpreting.

At ITNM, we provide quality professional translation services in almost every field, and at the best price. The advantage of making ITNM your partner is that materials are not just translated, but also edited by an editor and checked by a proofreader - to ensure that the vocabulary used is accurate and appropriate.

The editor is also responsible for paying attention to the language style, and appropriate nuances in accordance with the source material, while at the same time, ensuring that the translation fulfils the wants and needs of the client.

We have a high-calibre team comprising experienced translators, the best editors and thorough proofreaders. This is in line with our mission to offer high quality translation services in which the translation closely matches the source text. DOCUMENT TRANSLATION PROCEDURE

- Documents to be translated may be sent by email to the Customer Service Unit (rozana@itnm.com.my or masliza@itnm.com.my) or the Sales Unit (sales@itnm.com.my). Alternatively, customers may bring their documents direct to the Customer Service counter at ITNM.

- ITNM Customer Service counter hours of operation:

  • Mon – Thur: 9.00am - 5.00pm.
  • Fri:  9.00am – 12.30pm, 2:45pm – 5.00pm.

Requirements for the translation of certificates (academic and professional, passport, official government correspondence, Birth Certificate, etc.):

  1. If appearing in person, customers must bring original documents or clearly legible photocopies that have been certified as true copies by a Government Official, Legal Organisation or District Head / Village Head / Village Development and Security Committee Chairman / Secondary School Head Teacher / Primary School Head Teacher/ Commissioner for Oaths or such parties as have been authorised by the Public Service Department.
  2. For transactions via email, customers must send a scan of original documents that have been certified as true copies by one of the categories mentioned in (1) above.
  3. Please provide handwritten statements/references or supporting documents such as an identity card, passport, etc., as required, if details contained in original documents are obscure or illegible.

- For the translation of a single certificate, a minimum of three (3) working days is required. This will vary subject to the number of pages, source language, target language and type of document.

- For the translation of materials other than certificates, the time required for translation will be subject to the number of pages, speciality (technical, law, science, general, etc.), source language, target language and type of document.

Payment

  1. Payment may be made in the form of cash, credit card, cheque, postal order, bank draft or cash deposit. Payment by cheque, postal order or bank draft should be made out to ‘Institut Terjemahan Negara Malaysia Berhad’. Translation work will only proceed upon receipt of full payment.
  2. For transactions via email, customers are also required to send proof of payment in the form of a scan.

Institut Terjemahan Negara Malaysia (ITNM) is:
